Open access agreement for authors in Slovenia

Authors in Slovenia can now publish gold open access in Taylor & Francis and Routledge Open Select (hybrid) journals at no cost to themselves thanks to an open access agreement with the COSEC consortium.

This Read & Publish agreement between Taylor & Francis and the COSEC consortium combines continued access to subscription articles with the opportunity to publish open access in over 2,000 Open Select titles.

How to I make my research open access under this read and publish agreement?

You need to let us know that you would like to be considered for open access publication. To do this, once you have received your Author Publishing Agreement and confirmed your personal details, you simply need to select that you would like to be funded through your open access agreement, which you will see as you move through the process. Once you have signed the agreement, your institution will be notified of your request. If your request is approved you will receive an email asking you to select the Creative Commons license of your choice – find out about Creative Commons licenses.

What are the requirements of this open access agreement?

To be eligible, articles must:

  • Be original research articles. Other types of paper, such as Editorials, Announcements, and Book Reviews, are not covered by this agreement.
  • Be accepted for publication after the 1st January 2023
  • Have a corresponding author affiliated with a participating institution (see below).

Is there a limit to the number of articles that can be published under this open access agreement?

Yes, COSEC and Taylor & Francis have agreed a maximum number of open access articles to be published for each year of this partnership. Please be aware that this limit might therefore be reached before the end of a year, at which point the open access publishing element of the agreement will be paused until the beginning of the following year. However, even if the article allocation is reached, individual institutions may still have funds to continue supporting open access publishing. Please talk to your library for further details.

Please note that some Open Select journals with the higher article publishing charges, and subscription only journals are excluded from this open access agreement.
