Critical Insights in Environmental Science and Technology (CIEST) is a selective, Open Access, interdisciplinary journal that publishes quality, forward-thinking, impactful scientific research in the field of Environmental Science.

CIEST aims to identify current and emerging environmental issues facing society, as well as highlighting state-of-the-art methods for understanding environmental processes and evaluating future-looking technological applications for environmental restoration.

The scope of the journal is divided into 7 key sections:

• Innovative remediation, waste reduction, recycling and re-use technologies
• Exposure assessment and environmental health
• Contaminant fate and transport in the biosphere
• Environmental processes impacting climate change
• Novel assessment techniques for environmental application

Central to CIEST’s mission is a focus on environmental issues where society requires urgent change, as well as solving complex environmental issues through diverse perspectives. CIEST aims to highlight collaborative, interdisciplinary research with a future focus that articulates where the field is headed and distinguishes itself from other journals by encouraging fact-based speculation.
