Black Theology: An International Journal provides a forum for the articulation and expression of issues of faith among Black people across the world. Contributions explore the nature of the Black religious experience in relation to African, Caribbean, American, Antipodean or Asian origins and other relevant contexts. The journal takes particular care to offer carefully researched articles relevant to the growing number of courses on Black studies in institutes of higher education while also being accessible and relevant to the wider pastoral community. Types of articles include theological reflection, ethnologies and qualitative surveys or historical analyses written from religious studies, theological, anthropological or other social science perspectives. Each issues includes book reviews and a listing of books received.
Black Theology provides:
- A forum for theological expression by Black people
- Education for church and community on Black concerns
- Religious, social and cultural information on, and critique of, the Black experience across the many varied contexts where Black theological issues are discussed
- An avenue for the publication of research findings on Black issues
- Reviews of relevant books, music and media
Peer Review Policy:
All research articles published in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.
Authors can choose to publish gold open access in this journal.
