Virtual reality-based medical training and assessment: The multidisciplinary relationship between clinicians, educators and developers

SHORTEN, PhD in Medicine from the University College Cork, Ireland, is a former assistant professor of Anaesthesiology at Harvard Medical School. He was appointed as the first professor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at UCC, Ireland in 1997. He was a consultant anaesthetist at Cork University Hospital (1997), honorary consultant to the South Infirmary and Victoria Hospitals (1998) and dean of UCC School of Medicine (2010).

Annette AboulafiaUniversity of Limerick, Ireland; ANNETTE ABOULAFIA, PhD in Psychology from the Copenhagen University, is a former associate professor at University of Roskilde and a visiting professor at Copenhagen University. He is a senior research scholar at the Interaction Design Centre, University of Limerick, since 2004 and currently is a consultant at the National Digital Research Centre, Dublin.
