Eliana Claudia De Otero Ribeiro

DR ELIANA CLAUDIA RIBEIRO was formerly a professor and director of the Center of Educational Technology in Health, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She has been working on projects that link the education of health care professionals to the world of work. Dr. Eliana Claudia is a consultant to schools that seek to adjust their curricula to the health needs of defined populations and that support the development of permanent education projects and initiatives for professional qualification in health institutions. Her most recent work is being developed by the Ministry of Health and focuses on implementing a policy of training specialists in priority health areas in Brazil.

Stewart Mennin

DR STEWART MENNIN is co-creator and director of the Essential Skills in Medical Education Course (ESME) at AMEE and more recently in Brazil. He was Assistant Dean for Educational Development and Research, and co-director of the community-oriented, problem-based Primary Care Curriculum at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. He is an international faculty member of the Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) in the US, India, Brazil and Southern Africa. Together with Dr. Dan van Dalen (Maastricht University School of Health Education), Dr. Mennin is co-coordinator in Brazil and Latin America of the International Masters of Health Professions Education Course. His most recent work focuses on the relationship of complexity science with health professions education, leadership and change.
