The journal was launched in 2008 as a collaboration between the Clifford Beers Foundation and the University of Maryland School of Medicine with Editors from both institutions supported by a distinguished international editorial board.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to single blind peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees.
