Journal overview

The Journal of College Student Mental Health explores significant issues in the field of college student mental health. While contributions to the journal are welcome from college staff, faculty, students or other mental health professionals, the emphasis is on articles by and for college mental health professionals. All articles are expected to be directly relevant to the clinical specialty of college psychotherapy or counseling. We encourage authors to include as much diversity as possible in their samples to reflect the student population.

We welcome full-length or brief articles on professional issues, practice, or research findings. In addition, the Journal features opinion pieces, on-line interviews from international counseling centers, comments on key articles, and book reviews.

The Journal is published quarterly, and is affiliated with the Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors (AUCCCD). While unsolicited manuscripts will be reviewed, potential contributors are strongly encouraged to contact the editors beforehand to discuss their ideas’ suitability and direction. All manuscripts must be well organized and clearly written. Literature reviews should be no longer than absolutely necessary to justify an article’s importance and place it in context. Above all, articles should be interesting and useful to practicing college clinicians.

Peer Review Policy: All articles in this journal undergo editorial screening and anonymized peer review by one or two reviewers.

Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 530 Walnut Street, Suite 850, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
