A Farewell to “Structural Change”: The Cure for Pseudo-Inherency

Abstract

“Pseudo-inherency” is characterized by the question, “Can the present system adopt the affirmative plan without a structural change?” This question is argued to be inappropriate, and abandonment of the concept of “structural change” is recommended as the means to avoid the analytical difficulties which pseudo-inherency introduces. The valid inherency question is, “Can the advantages of the affirmative be achieved without adopting the resolution?”
