Abstract

Two studies, using Ss differing in age and geographic location, both indicate that (a) the condition of the eyelids is critical in alpha production, (b) biofeedback techniques do not enhance alpha densities beyond baseline measures, (c) alpha densities are not related to hypnotic susceptibility, and (d) hypnosis is not an adequate control for removing the potential interference of skeletal responses during instrumental, autonomic conditioning.
