Psychoanalytically Oriented Hypnotic Treatment of Autoerythrocytic Sensitization and Blindness

Pages 278-281 | Published online: 22 Sep 2011

Abstract

A patient with petechial rash and purpura on the lower extremities and hysterical blindness did not respond to conventional medical treatment or to initial courses of psychotherapy, including hypnosis. However, a psychoanalytically oriented hypnotic method was able to elicit the sources of the illness and enabled the author to design a successful therapeutic approach.
