ABSTRACT
Drawing from a review of studies and reports on teacher diversity in the Canadian public education sector, in this paper, I argue that the underrepresentation of minority teachers in the public education workforce cuts across all public educational system levels. To address this institutional dilemma, I suggest that lawmakers should inspire provincial ministries of education to enforce cross-cultural accountability policies on schools and universities in order to increase the hiring and the integration of minority teachers in the school and academic workplace.
