Abstract
The following article is an edited transcript of the R. Freeman Butts lecture of the American Educational Studies Association that took place on November 5, 2021, in Portland, Oregon. In the address, Stovall provides an assessment of the recent attacks on Critical Race Theory and the work needed to resist the current attacks.
