Radiotracer Study of Addition Agent Behaviour: 3—Incorporation of Sulphur in Nickel Deposited from Solutions Containing p-Toluenesulphonamide and Saccharin

Pages 52-55 | Received 01 Jan 1962, Published online: 08 Jun 2017

Summary

The rate of incorporation of sulphur from p-toluenesulphonamide and saccharin reaches a limiting value at fairly low concentrations. Variations in sulphur incorporation can be interpreted in terms of a dynamic process of simultaneous adsorption and desorption. Variations in cathodic polarization and in several properties of the deposit can be correlated with variations in sulphur incorporation. In solutions containing both substances, saccharin is preferentially adsorbed.
