Shirley Pendlebury is a senior lecturer in the Department of Education, the University of the Witwatersrand, Private Bag 3, P.O. Wits, 2050 Johannesburg, South Africa. She has written on practical deliberation in teaching and is currently investigating the ways in which an Aristotelian account of practical reasoning might inform our understanding of wise practice in teaching.
