Abstract
The purpose of this article is to make predictions for the future in training leaders of visually impaired children. These predictions are based on the history of preparing teachers in the education of visually impaired children at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and the literature regarding training teachers of visually impaired children. The major issues examined in this article include how to train enough teachers to serve the needs of visually impaired children and how to provide teachers with the competencies needed for children with a wide range of abilities.
