In a recent on-line discussion (11/08/2021), Debate 3 ‘Meu camarada Cristo: a Pedagogia do Oprimido e a Teologia da Libertação’ which was part of the ‘Ciclo de Debates Paulo Freire 100 anos: um projeto de esperança’, organised by the Levante Popular da Juventude, Frei Betto added the name of Camilo Torres, a Colombian Catholic priest and socialist, to the growing list of those who most contributed to the radicalising of Freire’s thinking.
