THE EMOTIONAL IMPACT OF SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE

Pages 49-60 | Published online: 16 Mar 2007

Abstract

Social work is emotionally demanding work. This paper explores some aspects of this, namely anxiety and fear, and argues that these feelings need more open discussion, acknowledgement and support. The nature of partnership working between social workers and other professionals is looked at in this context.
