Richard Edwards

Richard Edwards of the School of Education at the Open University U.K. continues here his exploration of the relevance of post‐modernism for understanding contemporary open and distance learning. Edwards addresses post‐modern notions of identity, and relates these to consumerism in education and other cultural fields. He finds Open Learning to be playing a significant role in the development of contemporary trends at both the individual and wider social levels.
