The declines in dizygotic twinning rates and in birth rates

Summary

It is suggested that, contrary to Elwood (1973), the current secular decline in age-specific dizygotic twinning rates is not due to the current decline in birth rates except to a minor extent.

Es wird angeregt dass, im Gegenteil zu Elwood (1973) die laufende weltliche Abnahme in Alter-spezifisch dizygotic twinning rates ist nicht mehr als eine kleine Ausdehnung dank der laufenden Geburtenabnahme.

Résumé

L'auteur suggère que, contrairement aux affirmations de l'Elwood (1973), le déclin séculaire observé pour les taux spécifiques selon l'âge de la géméllité dizygotique n'est lié que dans une faible mesure à la décroissance du taux de natalité.
