Summary
New data on blood groups among Egyptians (Dakahlya province) are obtained by studying eight blood group systems: ABO, Rhesus, MNSs, Kell, Duffy, Kidd, P and Lewis. Comparing our results with the data reported in neighbouring countries, we found in Egypt a high frequency of B, NS, cDe and K genes, a moderately high frequency of P and the presence of Fy gene. The Egyptian population appears as a mixture of African, Asiatic and Arabian characteristics.
Zusammenfassung
Neue Daten über Blutgruppen bei Ägyptern (Dakahlya-Provinz) werden durch die Untersuchung von acht Blutgruppensystemen gewonnen: ABO, Rhesus, MNSs, Kell, Duffy, Kidd, P und Lewis. Beim Vergleich unserer Ergebnisse mit Daten aus benachbarten Länder fanden wir in Ägypten eine hohe Genfrequenz von B, NS, cDe und K, eine mäßig hohe Frequenz von P und die Anwesenheit des Gens Fy. Die ägyptische Bevölkerung scheint eine Mischung von afrikanischen, asiatischen und arabischen Merkmalen zu sein.

De nouvelles données sur les groupes sanguins en Egypte (Province de Dakahlya), sont obtenues avec l'étude de huit syst`emes: ABO, Rhésus, MNSs, Kell, Duffy, Kidd, P et Lewis. Nos résultats comparés `a ceux qui ont été trouvés dans les pays voisins, montrent de hautes fréquences des g`enes Fy en Egypte. La population égyptienne apparait comme un mélange de caractéristiques africains, asiatiques et arabes.
