A Response to John Hockey's Paper ‘Establishing Boundaries’

Pages 307-310 | Published online: 02 Aug 2006

Abstract

This paper is written in response to Hockey's paper ‘Establishing Boundaries’ and his conclusions concerning the need for PhD supervisors to make explicit the limits of their involvement in the research process. It considers the peer group as a resource for meeting a range of student needs, at the same time promoting autonomy in the research process.
