Roger Lane

Major General Roger Lane was the Deputy Commander of the Italian-led NATO Rapid Deployable Corps for almost three years, during which he deployed to Afghanistan as the Deputy Commander Operations for nine months in 2005–06, and was responsible for the day-to-day operational management of 10,000 people from thirty-six nations in HQ NATO/ISAF. He also served under the command of the US in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan in 2002. He is the recipient of a CBE, US Bronze Star and Commendatore in the Italian Order of Merit arising from these operations.
