ABSTRACT

A framework for generating curriculum research is proposed. Dunkin and Biddle's model of teaching variables is synthesized with Beauchamp's “curriculum system” planning functions. The resultant framework helps to provide a means for systematically defining variables which delineate curriculum planning processes. The framework has great utility also for identifying: (1) the numerous research variables present within each of four general curriculum planning functions of design, development, implementation and evaluation; and (2) relationships among curriculum planning function variables.
