Abstract

RNA sequences derived from the Leishmania amazonensis mini-exon and pre-mini-exon sequences have been targeted with complementary oligonucleotides bearing a diimidazole construction mimicking active center of ribonuclease A. The conjugates were shown to cleave the target RNAs at specific positions.
