OVER THE HURDLE: WRITERS, WORD PROCESSORS, AND PREWRITING STRATEGIES

Pages 43-59 | Published online: 28 Jul 2006

Abstract

Writing strategies encourage beginning writers to collect, explore, and focus ideas. Employing the word processor eliminates the stress of working and reworking a text by hand and encourages an immersion in expression of meaning. A rationale and series of computerized and noncomputerized prewriting strategies are presented in helping learning disabled writers begin the writing process.
