Patrick Peprah Obuobi

Captain Patrick Peprah Obuobi, a serving officer in the Ghana Armed Forces, is currently the Assistant Director of Strategic Intelligence and Analysis at Ghana’s Department of Defence Intelligence. A graduate of the University of Ghana, he earned his M.A. in Intelligence and International Security in the War Studies Department of Kings College London. He is also a graduate of the United States Army Intelligence Center and School at Fort Huachuca. Captain Obuobi previously taught and conducted research on internal security, counterinsurgency, and terrorism at Ghana’s Jungle Warfare School and currently serves as a facilitator for intelligence training and counter-terrorism at Ghana’s Department of Defence Intelligence. His extensive experience in regional and international peacekeeping includes service with the United Nations Mission in La Cote D’Ivoire (UNOCI), United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), and United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). He received the British Government Chevening Scholarship in 2015. This article was adapted and updated from his earlier thesis at Kings College London.
