Abstract
Although flammability standards for upholstered products are being proposed, little reliable data exists on the extent of injuries and burns associated with interior furnishings fires. T his paper draws upon both hospital records and State Fire Marshal data for Nebraska to analyze the role of interior furnishings in fire injuries and deaths. T he age and sex of victims as well as the source of ignition are also analyzed.
