Notes
1. For those who can read Portuguese, there is a discussion about some issues on similarities and differences of modelling in chemistry and physics in Greca and Santos (Citation2005).
2. According to the author, they are “models of the theory that cover virtually all fundamental conceptions (depictors, descriptors, and various theoretical statements), rules and tools that are necessary to build and deploy any model in the theory” (p. 63).
3. I recognise that the presentation of examples from physics occurred as a natural consequence of the author's scientific background. However, as it is explicitly written in the cover of the book, it ‘is intended for researchers and graduate students in science education’. Therefore, the inclusion of some examples from the other areas of science would be welcomed.
