A systemic approach to quality improvements: The interactions between the technical, human and quality systems

Pages 79-100 | Published online: 25 Aug 2010

A quality process model has been developed integrating the human resources, technical and quality improvement system with the cause-effect modelling technique of systems dynamics methodology. The model interactions are substantiated by a review of the literature, and through company discussions. The integrated model and the causes and effect trees which were developed helped in exposing the complex interactions that may prevail in total quality management.
