Since publication, the authors have noticed that the language used to present their results was resulting in some readers misinterpreting their findings.
The authors performed a meta-regression with the standardized mean difference (SMD) as the outcome variable. The regression coefficient represents the difference in the SMD between interventions with and without a certain intervention component.
The results section mentions “SMD” several times, instead of “B” for regression coefficient. Additionally, the table with regression results mentions that the regression coefficient equals the SMD, while it is more appropriately worded as a difference or a change in the SMD. This has now been corrected for clarity.
