Notes

1. For a deeper analysis of religiosity in the Newton brand community, see Muñiz and Schau (Citation2005).

2. Please note Stephen Brown (Brown, 1998) wrote a clever and insightful book entitled, Songs of the Humpback Shopper (and Other Bazaar Ballads), that while not songs per se, did make a wonderful analogy between consumer narratives and the songs of humpback whales.

3. Astute readers may note that the esteemed volume's editor once authored a consumer narrative of his own, entitled, ‘Drove My Chevy to the Levee’, providing his own parody of this classic song.
