Pages 277-282 | Published online: 21 Nov 2006

Abstract

This interview was conducted electronically during May 2006 with Richard Quinney who lives in Madison, Wisconsin. It accompanies the article by Quinney, ‘The Life Inside: Abolishing the Prison,’ published in this issue of Contemporary Justice Review. In the interview Quinney talks about the requirements that each of us must adhere to in order to free ourselves of prisons within and without. He says that when even one imprisons or represses another we all suffer. In the interview Richard Quinney is referred to as ‘Ricardo,’ a name the interviewer has used with his friend for years and one which Quinney has developed an especial liking for.
