Abstract
Data on the extent and structure of substantive specializations in Master's level social work curricula indicate the continuation of a trend toward organization by both practice method and substantive focus. However, little indication of depth is found in existing specializations. Apparent increases in curricular specialization may actually be, in part, a change in program descriptions and true innovation and development of new practice fields may be unrealistic at this time.
