Martin Montgomery
Martin Montgomery is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Bates College. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Oregon in 2006 studying noncommutative rings. He makes extensive use of writing in his Contemporary Mathematics courses with projects that combine creative writing with history, the mathematics of voting, fair division, graph theory, and more.
Ryan Stuffelbeam
Ryan Stuffelbeam is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Iowa studying representation theory. He has implemented fiction-based writing assignments in his Contemporary Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Calculus II courses.
