Abstract
This paper proposes that oral case exams can play an important role in developing and assessing students’ communication and problem-solving skills. Oral case exams provide students with the opportunity to engage in dynamic, interactive learning, and provide the instructor with a context for judging student performance on dimensions not tested by more conventional examination methods.
