Abstract

Claudia Castellucci and Chiara Guidi, along with Romeo Castellucci, are founder members of Italian theatre company Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio. They came to London to give a performance for Civic Centre, at the Conway Hall, of the vocal work Uovo di bocca, based upon texts by Claudia. Immediately after the performance they joined Joe Kelleher for a public conversation on the theme of ethics of the voice. What follows is a more or less close account of that conversation. Chiara and Claudia spoke in Italian. The translation below is by Joe, although heavily indebted to the talents of Luca Scarlini, who joined us on the stage that afternoon to negotiate between the English and Italian languages.
