Thinking Circularly around Performance S/Objects

Abstract

This particular text sits adjacent to another read in conjunction with and as a performance presented at the ‘Performing, Writing’ symposium, of which this issue corresponds. The text in question, this text and the other text, occupies the interstices of the subjects of tautology and circular logic, the former being a successful instrument of philosophical argument, the latter being evidence of poor scholarship and criticism. The performance itself consisted of both reading and gesture, and reading as gesture, in order to provoke and contradict the affinities of live reading, writing, and performing with an immediate delay of a figural representation.
