Pages 45-55 | Published online: 07 Jul 2006

Abstract

This article (based on the results of a comprehensive study of the state of orthodontic education in seven dental schools across Canada) discusses broader implications for the improvement of undergraduate teaching. After comparing the overall findings from this study with the recent research on effective educational change, the authors provide suggestions for strengthening the instructional programmes investigated in the study. They also draw inferences from this analysis that may apply to other institutions initiating instructional‐improvement efforts.
