Wrays Perez Ramirez has been Pamuk, President or the highest authority of the Autonomous Territorial Government of the Wampí Nation in Peru since 2015. In November 2015 the 27 registered Wampí communities agreed on the statutes of the autonomous territorial government covering an area roughly five times the size of Luxembourg. The interview was conducted in Lima on October 2018 by Peter Larsen and was edited and translated for inclusion in this journal.
