Abstract
Reflection for action is seldom discussed. There is much literature about the benefits of reflection on‐action and reflection in‐action. Reflection before an action, or in other words pre‐action reflection or anticipatory reflection, can be more useful in the medical field, as it prepares our thoughts and we have a plan ready in case unforseen circumstances arise. As the saying goes, it is of little use to cry over spilt milk, it would be better if we could have strategies to prevent spilling the milk. This paper discusses several strategies which constitute reflection for action which may be useful in the medical field.
