Genetic Privacy: Might There Be a Moral Duty to Share One's Genetic Information?

Pages 52-54 | Published online: 02 Jun 2009

Notes

1. Even seemingly easy rescues can include small risks of great harm, as is acknowledged by critics and opponents of a legally enforced duty to aid (Malm 2005, CitationSmith 1998).

2. Discussions of the duty are meant to be consistent with viewing the duty as contextualized (de Melo-Martin 2008), imperfect (CitationShapshay and Pimple, 2007; CitationSharp and Yarborough, 2005) or prima facie.
