Abstract

The main aim of this study is to investigate the geometrical nonlinear flutter of three-phase nano-composite plates reinforced with carbon nano-tubes (CNTs). The effective material properties are obtained using Halpin-Tsai relation and rule of mixture. The classical plate theory and von Karman geometrical nonlinearities assumptions are employed to obtain the governing equation of the system. The homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is utilized to conduct a numerical investigation to study the aeroelastic behavior of multiscale composite plates. The effects of different parameters such as CNTs weight percentage, aspect ratio, and elastic modulus ratio on flutter pressure of nano-composite plates are considered.
