ABSTRACT
The Anishinaabe people understand Ago’idiwin (treaty) is about relationships. The spirit and intent of treaty were about two nations culminating in a shared sense of humanity and dignity. One must understand the pipe ceremony and its seven sacred cardinal directions as demonstrated by whoever conducts the ceremony. These also represent seven sacred principles of Anishinaabe laws, nationhood and sovereignty. Aanikoobijiginan is the same word for great grandparents, and great grandchildren. To me this describes a process of tying the seven generations together through Sasquatch Earth Laws, sacred story. A story both new and old because it is connected to our origin stories.

Ronald Indian-Mandamin
Ronald Indian-Mandamin. Baatikamiganung/Ron Indian Mandamin. What he carries is because of his Mom, Coleen A. Mandamin from Shoal Lake, Shipshitookwe, Whirlwind/Tornado Woman. 2021 is 5 years since she left. She always told him to keep with this spiritual work. Also, his Dad, Ron Indian of Big Grassy, Bugonegiizhig – Hole in the Sky, who taught him the big drum and how to love Spirit through traumas in life. Spirit taught us science, medicine, culture and language. This history comes from Manitou Abi-Where the Spirit Sits, the Bannock Point Petroforms in Whiteshell Provincial Park, Manitoba, Canada, and many teachers. This is where Kiizhkizit was placed after being taught in the starworld. This is the place everyone came and gathered. That’s a part of where the name Anishinaabe comes from, came from the stars back to the earth. It’s important that these laws are tied repeatedly and handed over and over again. So that the future could benefit from these laws – follow according to what is being left to us.
Jason Bone
Jason Bone. Asiinibizhiw Ndigo, Jason Bone Nindizinikaaz, Mikinaak Doodem, Keeseekoowenin (Giizhigoowining) Doonji. Anishinaabe-Saulteaux nindaaw. Cougar is his spiritual name, Jason Bone is his English name. Turtle clan from Keeseekoowenin, or Skyman. His late mom (1946–2015) is from Keeseekoowenin, Red Thunderbird Woman was her spiritual name, Florence Bone is her name. And his dad is from Keeseekoowenin, A Man of the Sun is his spiritual name. Harry Bone is his name. His wife is Janice Bone, son and daughter are Rylie Anangoons Florence and Giizhig Henry Lauder. He is very happy to be a spiritual scribe and helper for Midewid – One who works with the sound of the drum, Ron Indian-Mandamin and the Midewin lodge in Shoal Lake, Ontario. His Master of Arts thesis was titled Baagak Aadisookewin: Legends of History and Memory. His research interests are to explore what Anishinaabe-Ojibway stories about Anangokwaan (The Star World) and Miish’akomoo (Sasquatch) can tell us about our human history under the academic advice of Dr Niigaanwewidam James Sinclair.
