Abstract
This article introduces the current progress of post-occupancy evaluation (POE) in China in terms of theory, practice, and achievements. The article also points out that the real challenge in the development of POE in China is the combination of the absence of governmental supervision, excessive commercialization, human consciousness awareness of the public, research with weak foundation, and so on. In the future, as the actual demands for architecture programming, green building assessment, design research, and transformation of the existing environment intensify, along with the permeation of the scientific spirit into the social psyche, POE will gain increasing attention from all social sectors in China.
