Notes

1. Apparently I am unsuccessful. In my defence, the review took over a year of my working life. I tried all 71 of the instruments in order to immerse myself, many of them twice. It was disappointing when at the end all we could say was, “there’s no evidence that any of this will help you to teach better”.

2. There are some good examples of this in the Learning to Learn in Schools and Further Education Project. Further information including the teachers’ case studies, can be downloaded from: http://www.campaign-for-learning.org.uk/cfl/learninginschools/projects/learningtolearn/index.asp
