ABSTRACT

In this research, hydroxyl terminated poly butadiene (HTPB) was modified by alkylferrocene based silane derivatives via hydrosilylation reaction. The chemical structures of the new synthesized compounds was confirmed with FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy as well as CHN analysis. Thermal characteristics of final polymers were studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). In addition, viscosity and glass transition temperature (Tg) of the new polymers were determined. The results indicate that modifications of the HTPB was carried out successfully. The new alkylferrocene modified HTPB can be considerate as good candidates for burning rate accelerator catalyst in preparation of composite gas generator.
