Abstract
Through the use of ultrasound imaging, human fetal movement can be directly observed and assessed. This capability couples with the expansion of neuroscientific knowledge and related theories has encouraged physical therapist, obstetricians, neurologists and radiologists to work togather to explore the role of the fetal movemet in development. Directions for fetal movement study are suggested, based on this information, and guidelines for reserach consistent with the dynamical systems theory are presented.
