Abstract

The paper summarises an extensive research work that draws on the study of the satisfaction felt by Asturian language teachers who teach in the various formal educational levels (preschool, primary and secondary education) within the autonomous community of the Principality of Asturias. With a quantitative and descriptive methodology, the study highlights the strengths and weaknesses of instruction as reported by the teachers. From their conclusions we derived both lines of optimisation for this teaching-learning area in our educational system, and also the need to improve their administrative conditions so that the task of teaching Asturian language is more efficient.
