Therapeutic Love, Intellectual Truth, and Theoretical Understandings: A Clinical Application of the Theory and Methods of Integrative Psychotherapy

Abstract

A case example is used to illustrate treatment using integrative psychotherapy, a particular school of transactional analysis. Integrative psychotherapy as a theory of motivation, personality, and methods is considered along with some of its principle concepts, including contact-in-relationship.

Marye O'Reilly-Knapp, D.N.Sc., C.S., is a Certified Transactional Analyst, a psychotherapist in private practice, and co-director of Phoenix Center in Devon, Pennsylvania. She is also an adjunct professor for Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania, and an associate of the Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy, New York.
