Abstract
Adult ego states are seen as qualitatively different from Child and Parent ego states. The relationship between psychic organs and ego states is explored, and a new theoretical model for Adult ego states, the mandala model, is offered. The model's implications for ego state diagnosis are discussed, and the historical aspect of diagnosis is suggested as an important dimension in differentiating between Adult and Parent/Child ego states.
